- John,

What seems like a simple thing to do
actual begs a lot of little details. . .

You mentioned you ordered a new VWIC:
  * Did you remember to obtain additional
DSP's for the NM-HDV that the original
DSP now resides in? There is a DSP
calculator on CCO that is pretty good
    for sizing DSP/Voice requirements.

You mentioned you ordered a new PRI:
  * Did you provision the second PRI with
NFAS; if you did, time to cancel that
    feature with the telco.
  * How did / will you provision your
inbound DIDs? Do you have them set
to prefer the first PRI, and then
the second (if only for redundancy)
    PRI?
  * How do you want outbound calling to
occur? The second PRI followed by
the first PRI (again, if only for
    redundancy)?
  * How are your outbound route patterns
setup? Are they based directly off
of a gateway, or are they based on
    a "route list"?

Assuming that you have the DSP's, a
knowledge of the H.323 IOS side of
things, that you want inbound to prefer
PRI A and then PRI B, and want outbound
to prefer PRI B and then PRI A, and that
your original route patterns are based
  directly on a gateway configuration:

  Part I
  * Create a "temp" H.323 gateway in CCM.
  * Reassign your route patterns against
    this "temp" gateway in CCM.
  * Create a route group and place the
original gateway into it in CCM.
  * Create a route list and place the new
route group into it in CCM.
  * Reassign your route patterns against
the new route list in CCM.
  * Remove the "temp" gateway entry.
  * Test inbound calling, test outbound
calling to local, services, LD, etc,
    destinations.

  Part II
  * Provision the new PRI B gateway on the
2620 devices in IOS. You need to insure
that your outbound call patterns use
duplicate dial-peers where one has a
lower preference for PRI B, and another
has a higher preference for PRI A.
  * Create a "PRI B" H.323 gateway in CCM.
  * Create a route group and place the
    "PRI B" gateway into it.
  * Assign the "PRI B" route group into
the route list created above; place
the two route groups in an order where
the route group containing the PRI B
gateway is preferred over the route
group containing the PRI A gateway.
  * Test inbound calling, test outbound
calling to local, services, LD, etc,
    destinations.

For additional reference, you might want
to stop an B&B or Borders and look at the
  Cisco Press book: "Cisco CallManager
Fundamentals" (Alexander / Pierce / Smith)

Subject: Real world VoIP Question

I've got a CallManager (v3.1). The PSTN gateway is a 2620 router with a
VWIC-1MFT-T1 card in it. We've got an ISDN PRI coming in with H.323 running
between the CCM and the gateway. We've recently ordered a second PRI (the
first is running low on available lines). I've also ordered VWIC-2MFT-T1
card to go in the WIC slot. I've used this type card plenty of times for
data T1 circuits, but I've having a hard time finding some good
documentation explaining how to add the second PRI to the CCM gateway list.
I'd like to use the first one for incoming calls and the second for
outgoing. Any idea where I can find some more info on this?
