The main difference is that PaGP is Cisco Proprietary and LACP is the
open standard (LACP is relatively new compared to PaGP). AFAIK, they're
very similar in the way they act, so I can't say there's an advantage to
use one over the other. We have some IBM Blade servers that have
switching modules in them that only support LACP and the IOS on our
4500s doesn't support LACP, just PaGP. ButI was able to force both ends
(basically disable PaGP/LACP on each end) and the etherchannel came up.

Subject: Questuion about PaGP and LACP when configering etherchannel on
a Cat 3550
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between PaGP and LACP when
configering etherchannel on a Cat 3550.
All I know is that PaGP uses "auto and desireble" and that LACP uses
"passive and active"
But what is in the end the differences between those two?
Thanks
