If I recall correctly, collision detection is part of the gig ethernet
spec, but was removed in the 10 gig spec. It was not widely implemented,
but as long as it's in the spec, it is possible to have collisions. The
only implementation I know of is the Gigastack GBICs, which can run in half
duplex, which of course means you could see collisions.
