RE: a little help with eBGP redistribution please -

Hi Richard,

From what I do see from "sh ip eigrp" on R2, the EIGRP routes do not
include network for 11.11.11.0/24 (the address you are trying to ping is
11.11.11.1). And I don't see a default gateway, but again, you didn't
post the full routing table.

If I might make a suggestion for future posts, an ASCII topology would
make it easier on the rest of us to quickly get up to speed.

Q. This is it, correct?

R_25 -- Expresso -- R_2

***BGP

Q.Is R2 running BGP? Nothing is shown in the config you posted.

I note you post only a partial routing table for R2 but full BGP tables
for R25 and Expresso (sorry but typing the underscore is an unnecessary
hassle and I'll continue the rest of my comments without it - I'm a slow
typist).

***ROUTE-MAP COMMENTS

> router bgp 150
[snip]
> redistribute eigrp 10 metric 10 route-map Athens
> neighbor 172.16.0.2 remote-as 200
> neighbor 172.16.1.2 remote-as 100
[snip]
> access-list 11 permit 11.11.11.11
> access-list 11 permit 11.11.11.1
> !

>

Q. Are the host routes 11.11.11.11 and 11.11.11.1 in the routing table
and the EIGRP topology database? If not, nothing will get redistributed
into BGP.

***EIGRP COMMENTS

Q. Even assuming that R2 is running BGP and is not getting the two
11.11.11.x routes, looking at your "eigrp 10" configuration on R25,
Expresso, and R2, why isn't 11.11.11.0/24 in your routing table from
EIGRP? You might want to start troubleshooting from there.

I hope maybe this will give you a different viewpoint to help your
troubleshooting.

Jonathan
