Mobile ARP ('ip mobile arp') and Mobile IP (Home Agent and Foreign
Agent) are two COMPLETELY different things....

Mobile IP is not currently a tested topic on the R&S lab. Mobile ARP
(Local Area Mobility) is potentially a testable topic. The HA/FA stuff
I would learn if you are going for your C&S, but not the R&S lab. My
opinion.

But at least understand that mobile arp and mobile ip have NOTHING to do
with one another!

Check through the archives for links to each, because both have been
well-discussed previously.

Hope that helps!

Scott

Subject: ip mobile question

Where does the ip mobile arp command fit into the big picture ? Seems
like it is a lot easier to configure one router with this command along
with redistribute mobile than going through the hassle of configuring HA
and FA etc.

The reason I ask is I am doing IPEXPERT lab 35 and the requirement was
to allow a user from one subnet to be able to connect to another routers
subnet without changing its IP.

I was surprised when I checked the answer config and all they used was
the ip mobile ARP command instead of all the other stuff.

Any thoughts appreciated.
