It depends on what you are looking for in particular for voice. I've
read both of these books from cover to cover.
Scott's book is EXCELLENT. If you are looking for traditional voice
concepts (E&M signaling types, codecs, SS7), then this is the way to go.
If you are looking for specifics as it relates to VoIP dial peers and
topics that one might encounter in the CCIE lab, then I'd get BOTH.
Scott's book goes into the voice concepts, and the Voice Over X book
goes into configuration specifics as it relates to dial peers and IOS
voice configurations.
