Do a show proc mem with no bgp configured and see what your free memory
level is. If it is too low, the router won't be able to start certain
processes. Take a look at this link:

Subject: Memory allocation of 40 bytes failed

Hi Group,

I have a problem with my 4500 series router. The router has a 32 MB memory,
but as soon as I start configuring bgp it runs out of memory. Below you
will find the error message. Can some one tell me if this can be cured
through configuration?

Thanks
John Tafasi
