Another short reminder to our "alumni" and an invitation to new candidates:
With some friends, I have been running an IRC server to act as a point of
coordination for study partners, a place for real time answer to questions, a
place to chew the fat and discuss technology and a place to blow off steam
while fretting over IP obscuranta in that semi-exile known as CCIE lab
preparation.
We have a good bunch of regulars, now mostly CCIE and we welcome some fresh
blood to get the discussions moving again and keep us invigorated and excited
about the pursuit of knowledge and engineering excellence. To those that have
been and gone, please come join us again for a while to raise a glass.
If there is anything we can do to help new candidates, by all means come join
us. If you are new to IRC, please keep in mind that people are often labbing,
working or recuperating from post-traumatic stress disorder and can remain
silent for long periods and occasionally drool. The best policy is not to
lurk but to just jump right in and say hello or ask your question. If you
don't get a response, despair not. Simply leave the window open and go about
your business and check back in later, and lo! your answer will often
miraculously appear. The particulars are:
server: irc.tacorp.net
channel: #cisco
If you have any questions on IRC, the mIRC website at http://www.mirc.com (for
Windows) or BitchX at http://www.bitchx.com (for the One True Operating
System) have good FAQs. Address any questions that you have after reading
those to me and I will do my best to answer them.
Warmest wishes for the holidays,
Geoff Zinderdine
