OSPF: distance command

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Topology:

R1-----------------------------------R2
116.16.16.1/30 116.16.16.2/30

Problem Description:

R2 learns OSPF routes from R1. Using the distance
command, I configure the following in R2:

* distance 200 116.16.16.1 255.255.255.252
which OSPF converts into:
* distance 200 0.0.0.1 255.255.255.252

I don't have a problem if OSPF converts it.
But here is what happens on R2's route table:

O IA 116.16.13.0/25 [200/74] via 116.16.16.1
O E1 190.190.0.0 [200/158] via 116.16.16.1
                    [200/158] via 116.16.26.2 **
O E2 172.16.0.0 [200/20] via 116.16.16.1
                   [200/20] via 116.16.26.2 **
O E2 110.110.0.0 [200/20] via 116.16.16.1

NB: ** OSPF routes learnt from 116.16.26.2 also
increased to 200. Q) Why does that occur? To be short
and concise I have not drawn the other routes to which
R2 is connected to.

My aim is to increase all the routes learnt from
R1/116.16.16.1 to 200. Ideas?

rgds,
Sage
