Why would you think that a 6500 running Native code couldn't configure
VLANS? All you have to do is:

config t
vlan <vlan #>

int fa5/32
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan <vlan #>

My client (Sprint Enterprise) has 53 of these in their core, some using
Native and others running Hybrid.

BTW, the first link you sent is for configuring the Content Switching Module
(CSM), not the 6500 in general.

Both Native and Hybrid are running IOS don't they?

Native mode is behaving like a router (no vlans).

Hybrid mode is behaving both as router and switch and
must configure vlans..
