Tom,
My 4000M has 16MB FLASH. It's sticker says "4000M+" as do all 4000M's:
BB3-FRAME#sh version
Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software
IOS (tm) 4000 Software (XX-D-M), Version 11.1(5), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 1986-1996 by cisco Systems, Inc.
Compiled Mon 05-Aug-96 15:43 by mkamson
Image text-base: 0x00012000, data-base: 0x00468DD4
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 5.2(13a), RELEASE SOFTWARE
ROM: 4000 Bootstrap Software (XX-RXBOOT), Version 10.2(13a), RELEASE
SOFTWARE (fc1)
BB3-FRAME uptime is 0 minutes
System restarted by power-on
System image file is "flash:4000-xx-d-mz.111-5", booted via flash
cisco 4000 (68030) processor (revision 0xC0) with 16384K/4096K bytes of
memory.
Processor board ID 5028759
G.703/E1 software, Version 1.0.
Bridging software.
X.25 software, Version 2.0, NET2, BFE and GOSIP compliant.
1 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface.
8 Serial network interfaces.
128K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)
Configuration register is 0x2102
I bought the flash on eBay and have had no problems. I tried to upgrade to
32MB DRAM bought on eBay but failed (twice). Could buy elsewhere, but too
expensive, and not necessary for a frame relay switch.
