  You can have linecoding incorrect and thing will still work but not
well. For example if you have B8ZS/AMI mismatch. If all the data you
send contains enough 1's density things will work alright but if you
have a large number on zeros your clocking goes to hell and the circuit
will temporairly drop. So sending a bunch of large all zeros pings can
help.
