Friends,So we have a test pattern for ping, but is it usefull if the line
is down? How can you ping anything when you outgoing interface is
down? If you can reach a few hops, ping will still die at the location
where the circuit drop. How can these ping patterns we discussed help?
From my understanding, if clocking or linecoding or framing is incorrect,
the interface will not come up, then what good is ping? I have a question
on bert test pattern. Can anyone explain these test patterns available
on IOS and their use? 0s All 0's test pattern
1-in-8 1 in 8 test pattern
1s All 1's test pattern
2^11 2^11-1 test pattern
2^15 2^15-1 O.151 test pattern
2^20-QRSS 2^20-1 QRSS O.151 test pattern
alt-0-1 Alternating 0's and 1's test pattern
user-defined User defined test pattern
thankyou very much.
