redistribution again and again

Hello All

I have a problem with the following redistribution scenario and I hope that
some of you can help.

                               R4
                              / | \
                            / | \
                                     / | \
                                   / | \
                                / | \
                     / | \
                   / | \
                R5 R6 R2
                 | |
                         | |
     _________|_______ |___
                          |
                        R7
                         |
                         |
                            |
                        R8

Network topology:
1- EIGRP is running between R2, R4, R5 and R6. R4 is hup and R2, R5 and R6
are the spokes. Everything is working fine. The spokes can see each other
routes after I disabled split-horizon in the hop.
2- OSPF is running on the Ethernet network between R5, R6 and R7 and between
the serial link between R7 and R8. Every thing is working fine within the
OSPF area.

Problem:
When I do mutual redistribution between EIGRP and OSPF at R5 and R6, I get
the expected. R5 sees EIGRP routes as external OSPF routes with the Ethernet
interface of R6 as the next hop. Also R6 sees EIGRP routes as external OSPF
routes with the Ethernet Interface of R5 as the next hop. Also, R7 does not
see two external OSPF routes for each redistributed route from both R5 and
R6. With the exception of one route, R7 receive only one route. Either from
R5 or from R6.

Question:
R5 and R6 receive EIGRP routes with distance of 90. Then redistribute them
with a distance of 110. Why R5 and R6 install routes with higher distance?
This question drove me crazy last night and ruin the whole thing.

Finally this is an Ipexpert scenario number 21 if you want to look at the
details.
