Esther,
The bridge protocol type command is for you to choose what type of spanning
tree protocol to use. There is no default on the router, you need to know
which spanning tree protocol is used on the bridges/switches in your netork,
most likely it is the IEEE standard (802.1d). The IEEE option uses 802.1d
which is more commonly used, you would use DEC or IBM if you wanted to
connect to older devices that uses the DEC or IBM standard.
