John is right,
I have also noticed that when you nail down redistribution points that it becomes a bear when you have to work out fail-over scenarios. Distance can be your friend also.
It's still good to nail down stuff but where and what to nail and how each routing protocol REACTS is the KEY point (run-on sentence). Nailing stuff like half-duplex/full-duplex, etc. is very good stuff to nail down.
