Dear Paul,
It is not that stange, when you turn on ospf the router need a
interface with a ip address (either loopback or real interface).
pls. check your config and try to enable one interface (with a ip
address) before you turn on ospf, with the router ospf 1
Best regards

I have been working on a 2651 router for the past few hours in a lab
running
ospf.
I finished a lab and erased the configs and reloaded the routers.
Now when I went to configure this 2651 router for ospf in this new lab
I get
the following error.
Router1(config)#router ospf 100
OSPF :Could not allocate router id
All other routing protocols seem to work fine.. I can't see what's
wrong..
Anyone any idea's
Kind regards.
Paul.
