The Cisco Press book 'Network Design and Case Studies (CCIE Fundamentals)'
is basically a hard copy version of most of the content Chris is referring
to.
In either form I would recommend that everybody reads this. Although we all
know the lab has little to do with design and implementation practices!

Adding to Colin's post.
The Internetworking Case Studies and the Internetwork Design Guide on the CD
is great. I printed it out. 500 pages. The preface actually specifies this
is for CCIE preparation. I actually found it when I was searching on how to
block out the Serialization Sap.
Any other links for a Candidate that needs to take the test before November?

Colin Barber wrote: Paul,
You are right about the search engine. Basically never try and use it. You
have to know where everything is and be able to get to it quickly. This is
why you need to read it all and use it to find all your information during
your studying before trying to find the answer on CCO or groupstudy.
You will find most things under Cisco IOS Software - 12.1 - Config guides
and command reference.
for Cats - Cat Switches - Cat 5000 - Switch software 4.5 - Software config
guide and command ref. and the same for Cat 3550 using the latest release.
I have also found that the latest document CDs not only ship with the
annoying expiry date but that 12.1 docs now just point to CCO. Therefore I
would recommend using 12.2 documentation as well as 12.1.
What links are you thinking of Paul? I found some good links for IPX
sockets, saps and protocols which saves learning them all of by heart
however as IPX is being removed soon they are not much use.
Regards,
Colin

I have been looking through the cisoc doc cd and have noticed one thing that
stands out..
The search engine is absolutly useless..
I can't seem to think why someone would use it.
Anyway does anyone know if someone has ever published a cd docs links for
the important links of the cd for CCIE canditates.
I this could be really helpful to people studying for there CCIE as a lot of
stuff on the cd is difficult to find..
Any info appreciated
Kind regards.
Paul.
