I would like to say thank you to everybody who has congratulated me.
I will reply to everybody's questions here in one posting to reduce traffic.
What will I do now? I think I will have a rest for a bit, then maybe look
into security a bit more but I don't think I will attempt to get a security
CCIE.
I hope to stay on this list. I may not post as many times as before but I
will try.
I don't know how many hours I spent in the lab. I would guess 300 hours.
Each person is different and also how much content do you cover in your job?
Things I have learnt during studying I have been able to implement at work
which gives you extra practice.
Paul, I always thought 6822 was your CCIE number. I guess it's just your
phone extension! Good luck with your attempt in March. You seems to be
putting the work in.
How long did it take to read the doc CD? I didn't do it in one go so I
couldn't say. I do know it is hard work reading off the monitor so if you
get a chance, get hold of the hard copies. I would guess it takes as long as
reading Doyle I & II. Obviously only read the relevant sections: IOS 12.1,
IOS 12.2, CatOS 4.5 for 5000 (or now Cat 3550 docs), Cat 3900/3920, router
hardware used, design guides, troubleshooting guides, case studies and
debugging. There's no point reading the GSR documentation etc. for the lab
exam, save that for after :-)
Colin
