Pieter,
You need to use a technique called aptly enough PVC Discovery. I have
included a link to the appropriate CCO doco:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/fwan
_c/wcfatm.htm#xtocid286558
Let me know if this helps.

Subject: ATM vpi/vci .... how do you get it?
Hi
I was doing a lab this weekend where one of the requirements was to
configure 2 routers to establish a connection through the ATM link. The
requirement however is for you to determine what the vpi/vci values are as
they don't provide it and you don't have access to the ATM switch.
Has anyone come across this. I have checked the cisco doc CD and website but
couldn't find anything useful. I have also tried all the debug atm xxx
commands that I could find.
All help appreciated.
Regards Pieter
