David Hucabi, in his book, CCNP Switching, states on
page 376, "No designated router exists when running
PIM in dense mode." However, on the next page, 377,
there is an illustration, Example 11-1, of "show ip
pim neighbor", which shows one neighbor with dense
mode as a designated router. Isn't this a
contradiction?
What is the true answer? Can you have a DR with PIM
dense mode, or not?
Thanks,
Ted
