Mike,

While Cisco is removing the set-based 5000 and has not announced the
addition of the set-based 6500, there has been talk of adding 6500's in the
future; and even if Cisco doesn't add the 6500 to the lab this year (because
they would be too expensive for the average candidate), the industry sure
uses 6500's. Therefore, don't rule out buying a 5000 to get hands-on
practice with a set-based switch.

The 3500 is basically the same IOS-based Enterprise Software as your 2900.
