You need a db-9 connector with a special pinout for token ring. Use a
straight through cable and the adapter known as a media filter (search
ebay for media filter).
Also, you may need to select the media type as well. I know on my 2522
which has ethernet aui and rj-45 connections for e0, you have to issue a
"media-type" command under the interface if you want to change from the
default media-type. Not sure if the default is aui or rj-45, but you can
find this pretty quickly on CCO.
