Nick,
When you are using SNAP/LLC to transport data (as you are in this case) you
are basically performing RFC 1483 encaps. Thus you do not need to specify
the keywords protocol bridge under your interface. In fact this is a default
command in 12.2 (not sure about earlier releases). I believe that if you
turn ATMinarp off then you will need to specify this.
Cheers,

Subject: bridging + ATM
Guys,
Can someone help me here, I am doing a simple transparent
bridging over ATM
... Now can someone tell me if I *have* to use "protocol
bridge broad" under
the PVC config or not...(ps. there are ethernet interfaces
on both the
routers which are a part of bridge group as well)
R13..
interface ATM0
ip address 11.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
pvc 0/112
protocol ip 11.1.1.2 broadcast
protocol ipx 14.000d.000d.000d broadcast
oam-pvc manage
encapsulation aal5snap
!
atm rate-queue 1 20
no atm ilmi-keepalive
sscop receive-window 14
ipx network 14
bridge-group 1
end
R14..
interface ATM0
ip address 11.1.1.2 255.255.255.0
pvc 2/211
protocol ip 11.1.1.1 broadcast
protocol ipx 14.000c.000c.000c
oam-pvc manage
encapsulation aal5snap
!
atm rate-queue 1 20
no atm ilmi-keepalive
sscop receive-window 14
ipx network 14
bridge-group 1
end
Thanks in advance
Nick
