Joe,

You can change the path cost with interface command "ip ospf cost <cost value>"
. This can change what path you take by raising or lower cost but not the rout
e type from intra-area, inter-area, etc.

You can change the ospf distance of O, IA, External on the local router with ro
uter command "distance ospf ?". This can make one type or route preferred.
