Gentleman, please be aware that ROOT GUARD "may not" be a possible
option in the lab. Why? The lab may use an older CatOS level than when
the feature was introduced. This is a fairly new feature. This leads me
to suggest that you should be familiar with ancient ways of solving
problems as the OS levels in the lab may be older than you may have
studied.

I am quoting from CCO:

"Availability

Root guard is available in Catalyst OS for Catalysts 29xx, 4000, 5000,
and 6000 in software version 6.1.1 and later. For the Catalyst
6000 running Cisco . IOS (Native IOS), this feature was first introduced
in the software version 12.0(7)XE.

For the Catalyst 2900XL and 3500XL switches root guard is available in
12.0(5)XU and later software. The Catalyst 2950 series
switches support root guard feature in the Cisco IOS Release
12.0(5.2)WC(1) or later. The Catalyst 3550 series switches support root
guard feature in the Cisco IOS Release 12.1(4)EA1 or later.
"

Good luck!
