I have a couple of BGP issues I need clarified,,,

Number 1:

How many different ways are there to advertise a connected network in
BGP..eg:

1) Use network statement
2) Redistribute connected with route map allowing on the network you want
3) Anything else???

Number 2:

Consider the scenario below

AS1------EBGP-----------AS2-------EBGP---------AS3

I am advertising a network in AS1 using the network statement under BGP. I
want to see this network in AS3 with only AS2 displayed in the path. This
network is not in the IGP table..............I have tried Next-Hop-Self on
the router is AS2 but still seeing both AS's in the path on router in AS3.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanx
