RE: read only Flash

All,

This is normal for 2500's as they use the flash helper to load new IOS. You
need to just do copy tftp flash and it will prompt you from their and the
FLH will reload the router in read/write mode and upload the file.

                Change the configuration register value to have the router
boot from BOOT ... in this mode, the flash becomes Read/Write.

                You can use the conf reg value 0x1.

                router(config)# config-register 0x1
                router# reload

                router<(boot)># sh ver
                .
                .
                .
                16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

                Upgrade the router, change back the conf reg value to
0x2102, reload the router and that's it.
