To be specific, you use that command on point-to-point
subinterfaces. This is because on a point-to-point circuit,
you want to map all protocols to a single PVC.
On multipoint interfaces--like the major interface--you have
multiple PVCs terminating and you need to specify which
protocols/addresses get mapped to which PVCs.
