If u have a ASBR in Area 0 or in other Area 2
And u want are 1 to not get LSA 5 into it u can make
the are stub
So that is Area 1 will use a default route to get to
networks that re being redistributed into the OSPf
In a Stub are u cannot have a ASBR so Area 1 cannot
have ASBR
Now if u want to have a ASBR in this are the u have to
make it a normal are
That is all the LSA % From Area 0 will come into Area
1
What if u dont want that to happen u want Area 1 not
to get LSA 5 from Area 0 and want to have a ASBR in
the Area
That is u want to use a Default route to go to the
networks that are being redistributed into ospf by a
ASBR in area 0 and want to have a ASBs in this Area
that will advertise some external routes
U can make this area as a NSSA . that is that this
Area will not get LSA 5 from the ABR but have LSA 7 to
define the networks that are redistributed by the ASBR
of this area
The ABR of this Area will convert LSA 7 into LSA 5 and
inject them into Area 0
So unless u have a ASBR In an other area and in this
are u would not be making the ares as NSSA
