Integrated ISIS simply refers to ISIS routing for IP. It is pretty much
all the ISIS is used for currently beyond some sonet management CLNS based
networks. For CCIE, you need not be concerned with CLNS as Cisco has
removed it from the list of candidate topics.

Multi-Area ISIS refers specifically to the ability for a router (IS) to
exist in multiple areas. This allows a single L1/L2 router to provide
connectivity for multiple L1 areas. Multi-area is not often deployed in IP
networks as it was primarily a CLNS need that drove the
functionality. Single area ISIS networks can grow quite large.
