A straight through cable should of worked, token-ring only uses pins 3-4-5-6
(two middle pair), I would suggest you try the straight through on another
port.

Subject: Token Ring cabling question

I have a 3620 router with a token ring interface (RJ45 type connection).
I want to connect it to a token ring MAU I have which also has RJ45 type
connections. I tried both a cross over and a straight through cat5
cable but no luck inserting into the ring. Any ideas or thoughts on how
to get it working?

Thanks,

Ian
