The command I like is to add:
line console 0
escape-character 27
Then when you want to break out of a long traceroute or ping, just press
[ESC]. I put this in all my routers, except the terminal server (causes
problems). If you prefer, you could set your escape-character to any other
key referenced by the ASCII table.
