Thanks all, I am unsure why the IOS became corrupt but after changing the
config-register to 0x42, clearing the config and changing the
config-register back to 0x2102. Thanks all.....

This looks like a corrupt IOS. If you have another 2500 router lying
around, you can boot to rommon and load a TFTP image from another router
(must be less than 8mb because it has to copy to RAM and run from RAM.)

If that fixes it, just reboot into rommon and download a new IOS to fix.

If that doesn't fix it, then try clearing the config--boot to rommon, do
an "o/r 0x42" and reboot with no configuration to see if it comes up.
