Brian,
Here is the link to the docs on
line.
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/12cgcr/wan_c/wc
atm.htm
Send me you configs or email me with specific questions and I'll help.
Similarities:
1. Both need pvc 0/5 qsaal for signalling
2. I like to use pvc 0/16 ilmi to "see" the directly connected atm switch
and pull its atm nsap address using "sho lane defaut" if you can see that
then ilmi isn't working right.
3. Both need to have a atm esi or full nsap configured locally and have a
way to discover the NSAP address of the remote L3 protocol address.
Basic differences:
1. CLIP is for IP only (of course that doesn't mean you can't tunnel other
things over it :^)
2. CLIP is considered easier to configure. Basically do the stuff above
in similarities section and then add inarp server self or inarp server NSAP
address.
3. None CLIP SVC (not including lane stuff) need to some way to map L3
protocol addresses to NSAPs/ESIs.
Gotta love this stuff!
