Ahh I see. You dont need crossover's, but I'd change the security level of
ethernet 4. I don't believe 2 interfaces should have same security setting.

Yep. The pix will send heartbeats on all interfaces, so any non-connected
interfaces will be treated as down and trigger a failover. Back and forth.

Of that much, I am certain. What I can't remember is whether or not ip
address need to be configured on those interfaces. I believe they do.
