I found that certain routers in my lab I experienced this as well. I
suspect it's just an IOS quirk. Now, since you know the command you used
doesn't work on that particular router, and you know the command is
correct, what would you do next? If this happened in your lab test, you
have to find a way to make it work...

There are multiple ways to manipulate a route, perhaps a route-map might
help here...
