I took "because if I plug my other line into it, and change the spid," (no
mention of a change in switch-type) to mean another physical (NT &/or cable)
connection to the same switch type. Matt, correct me if this assumption is
wrong. What is it they say about making assumptions? If I'm wrong, I guess
that's what I get for being in a hurry. :-)

However, if the assumptions are correct, CSCdk32594 seems unlikely as there
is no change in switch-type, Matt plugs in his other line (need
clarification here), changes spids only, and everythings okay. Seems pretty
clear there's an L1 issue here.

I've seen these in cases where a replacement NT did the trick.
