I've seen encap failures on dialer interfaces when the layer-3 address
doesn't have a layer-2 mapping to bind to--like a dialer string or a
remote name. These mappings can either be statically configured with
'dialer map' commands or dynamically created at the called-end based
upon information provided by the calling-end during call setup and
authentication...
If you post your configs, I'm sure you'll get lots of speedy responses!

Mas Kato

im trying a simple scenario to run IPX over ISDN and i got a problem
one of the routers is not able to send broadcast to its BRI interface .
when i enabled the ipx packet debug i got "encapsultaion failure

the router has a dialer map to the other router with broadcast keyward
,the
network addresses are all fine and the interesting traffic is defined
well
when i tried to ping ipx the other end i got
NOVELL: cannot send echo !
this router which creates the problem has IOS 11.0
