This is just a shot in the dark, but I'm pretty sure the newer IOS uses the
Cisco IPX echo, which is not compatible with the Novell IPX echo. If you're
router is sending Novell IPX pings/echoes, then make sure the router you
are pinging is set to Novell echo as well or set them both to Cisco.
Just a thought.
