Before reloading verify that the lo0 is not in the area 0 where you added it.
Somteimes you can actually see where ospf hangs on to a previously configured
area, or lack there of. and has not accpted the changes you enter in the config
.
Definitely time for a reload when ospf stops taking your config changes.
