I had the same problem honestly. I love my cats but I also love my
cables. I tried the apple spray thing but it wouldn't work. May be
Indian cats are immune to this apple spray. So I was really worried and
emotionally devastated. However I have been able to figure out a
solution lately. Always configure the clock rate to 128000 and create a
dummy EGP (exterior gateway protocol)(predecessor of BGP4) configuration
in the two routers that are connected via the DTE-DCE cables. The cats
don't even venture near the cables now. I have also tested this
configuration on American cats using my friend's cat. It works just
fine. My cats are happy now and I am also very happy. Please let me know
if you need the config files. You don't have to worry about the power
cables because this configuration seems to create a fairly large
no-entry zone for the cats.

Seems that we are discussing this and its off topic, I have another
question
that one of you might be able to help with. I have two cats and they
love to
chew cables especially my $80 each DTE to DCE back-to-backs. They still
work
as they haven't go that far in to the cables (yet) but in time they
will. The
way my lab is it is very hard to stop the cats getting at them, any
ideas on
what you put on router cables to stop cats chewing them? I love cats but
I'm
no means a cat specialist. They also chew the power cables (seriously)
as
well so I'm a bit worried about A, a fire B, dead cats.

I realise the opertunity exist here for serveral jokes, please try to
refrain
if you can. I am honestly a little worried about this, do all cats chew
cables or are mine just especially stupid?
