Does it make perfect sense to have fair queue on an Ethernet ?
The advice I have frequently heard is queuing on slower interfaces and
for high speed interfaces let it go FIFO. Absent some kind of requirement
for QOS why would you put the overhead of any queuing strategy on a high
speed interface ?
