This doesn't exactly answer the question....but this is off CCO.........

Error Message
%OSPF-4-NOTREDIST4: Database scanner: external LSA [inet] is lost,
reinstalls

Explanation The software detected an unexpected condition. The router
will take corrective action and continue.

Recommended Action Copy the error message exactly as it appears on the
console or in the system log. Issue the show
tech-support command to gather data that may provide information to
determine the nature of the error. If you cannot
determine the nature of the error from the error message text or from the
show tech-support output, call your Cisco technical
support representative and provide the representative with the gathered
information.

sounds like bad news to me.......IOS......
