I don't disagree with what you are saying at all. As a matter of fact, my
approach to this problem lead me down this line, and I finally gave up
figuring this out myself after working on it a considerable time. As I
stated earlier I could not burst above my CIR even if I did configure burst
parameters. When I called Cisco's TAC, they gave me their "rule of thumb".
Although it doesn't make sense to me based on how the frame parameters are
defined, it works as the TAC says. Go figure. Allyn

Thank you,but I think perhaps it 's wrong if I config as you said in lab.
I think CIR+EIR=line speed.otherwise,be=EIR/tc or be=EIR,because
BE only burst in first tc,so I think BE=EIR.can you give me answer.
