Yes,
x.x.x.x in frame-relay map statement means the IP address of the new
router.

hi, Mazhar
I guess the ip add x.x.x is different with the ip add "frame-relay map ip
x.x.x.x YYYY broadcast
".

James, make sure your pvc 100 is fine.your config is allright.

Hi,
Existing router configuration requires only

ip address x.x.x. ....
encapsulation frame-relay
frame-relay map ip x.x.x.x YYYY broadcast
ip helper-address Z.Z.Z.Z

Newrouter side FR-SW requires
frame-relay lmi-type cisco

&

only one DLCI should be connected to new router.

I hope this helps you
Bye

Hello, Sir:

I can not get the ip in newrouter from autoinstall....
my config is

existing router:

int s0/0
encap frame-relay
ip add 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
frame lmi-type cisco
frame map ip 10.10.10.2 100 broadcast CISCO
ip helper-address 210.59.251.236

but when I debug ip packet ,
no any packet come from newrouter to try to get config ?

I have done the autoinstall when I use hdlc encapulation successfully.
but can't with frame-relay ?
what do I miss ?

Thaks for your answer !!!

James
