Robert,

All that is needed is 'ip irdp' under the interface.
All other commands are optional. You can do 'show ip
irdp' to see default settings & settings.

This will send out a broadcast advertisement out this
interface using the IP address assigned for gateway
advertised.

The multicast option will send IRDP advertisements to
224.0.0.1 instead of 255.255.255.255.

You can test this on a test/lab router by enabling
irdp and setting the min advertisement to 3 seconds,
and max to 4 seconds. Turn on debug ip packet and
watch.

Regards,
Erick

I have a simple question about IRDP. If I am
configuring a router to automatically send out a
default gateway (assuming the clients support it),
would I use the "ip irdp multicast" command?

or would I just do the following: ?
ip irdp
ip irdp preference 600 (optional)

Does anyone have a clean sample config of IRDP, I can
not find anything on CCO???
