There are two "types" of DCE interfaces. One is defined by the cable that is
attached to the router, and the other is by the interface type required by
the encapsulation. For example, two routers connected back-to-back
configured for frame relay require "frame-relay intf-type dce" on one end
and a "frame-relay intf-type dte" on the other. This has nothing to do with
the physical cable connection and consequently clocking. So you can specify
a DTE frame relay interface that provides the clocking if you have a DCE
cable connected to the interface. Allyn
