Art,
The command "atm lecs-address-default" in the LS1010 tells the 1010 what addres
s you've set in your LECS. The LS1010 is supposed to give that address to each
LEC. Not every ATM switch will do that, but the LS1010 can. If it doesn't, f
ollow John's advice to hard code it on the sub interface.

There are many ways to set the LECS address:
lane config auto-config-atm address
"lane config auto-config-atm address" modified with the "mac-address" command
"lane config config-atm-addess"

But it works best if you use different addresses for each device. Your address
es on the switch and router below are to close for comfort.

Charles

Arthur, on the main ATM interface that will be your LECS, use the "lane
config config-atm-address (NSAP address of LECS)" command. This binds the
LECS on that interface to that particular NSAP address.
Then on your sub-interface, use the "lane config-atm-address (NSAP
address of LECS)" to bind the LES/BUS and Client on the sub-interface to the
NSAP address of the LECS.
