Thank you for your input.

I can hear the phantom voltage clicking. when I did a shut and then no shut
on the interface, I got the following:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
%TR-4-INTFAIL: Unit 0 interface failure: 0xA0 0x27 0x1F, idb state 0sh inter
to0
%LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface TokenRing0, changed state to initializing
TokenRing0 is initializing, line protocol is down
Hardware is TMS380, address is 0008.de7e.2bd0 (bia 0008.de7e.2bd0)
MTU 4464 bytes, BW 4000 Kbit, DLY 2500 usec, rely 255/255, load 1/255
Encapsulation SNAP, loopback not set, keepalive set (10 sec)
ARP type: SNAP, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
  Ring speed: 4 Mbps
Single ring node, Source Route Transparent Bridge capable
Group Address: 0x00000000, Functional Address: 0x08000000
  Ethernet Transit OUI: 0x000000
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------

then everything remain same as before, just as I described before, and I did
try another TR interface of another router. so maybe the MAU is realluy
faulty?

Daniel
